本家は「寺子屋 お～ぷん・どあ」。
静岡の美保で子どもの相談事業・講演会・イベントなど幅広く活動されている川口正義さん史子さんご夫妻。その川口さんにお願いして、浦安で「お～ぷん・どあ」を名乗らせていただきました。
今から６年ぐらい前のこと。
学校がおもしろくないであろう子どもたちのための塾をやれないだろうか、と代表の山田、井上と横山の３人で構想を練っていました。その時、塾の名前としてあれこれ考えた挙句『「お～ぷん・どあ」っていいね。名前を借りれないかきいてみよう』と、川口さんにお願いして快諾していただきました。その後、山田がバンコクに行ってしまい、井上は集会所と自宅で小さな塾をはじめ、３人で塾をやるはなしは、沙汰止みになっていました。
川口さんは毎年年賀状で『浦安のお～ぷん・どあはどうなっていますか？」と気にかけてくださっていましたが、『まだまだです』と答えていました。
昨年（２００４年）、「いよいよ学校を作ろう」とした時に、他の名前は考えられませんでした。
本家『寺子屋 お～ぷん・どあ』に恥じない（？）ユニバーサルスクール「お～ぷん・どあ」をめざしたいと思います。
